If you ask any hunter they’ll tell they probably have filled more tags in the low-light hours than any other time. With that said, it would be wise to design a scope to excel in early-morning and late-evening light. With the Talos BTR cope with Athlon Advanced multi-coated lenses for clarity and brightness in low light, you’ll be able to add precious minutes to every hunting day that you’ve worked hard for. These scopes, with their 4X magnification range, will give you great versatility whether you are hunting whitetails in the dense southern pine forest of Georgia or prairie dogs in on the wide open ranges of Wyoming.   With one-piece tube design, the Talos BTR line includes an assortment of specialty scopes for big-game, varmint, MSR’s, 22 rimfire, slug, black powder and turkey hunting.

This Talos BTR 1-4×24 Model has AHSR14 second focal plane illuminated MIL reticle in it. Please click the line or go to Specification to download the reticle instruction manual for more details…

Illuminated Reticle The illuminated reticle provides greater visibility during dusk and dawn and other low ambient light environment.
Etched Glass Reticle Reticle etched on the glass that provides excellent backing support for complex reticle design and offers great durability and much higher shock resistance to recoil
Fully Multicoated Fully Multicoated optics effectively reduces reflected light and increases the transmission of light giving you a brighter image than normal single coated lenses
Aircraft Grade Aluminum Aircraft Grade Aluminum provide extra strength and durability to handle the toughest terrain and offers lifetime of use.
Heat Treated One Piece Tube Construction Heat treated one piece tube gives the scope extra strength over multi-piece tubes.  A one piece tube also is better at keeping moisture out thus keeping your scope fog proof for the life of the product
Waterproof Waterproof to protect the scope in the harshest weather conditions or if accidently submerged underwater
Fog proof Fog proof to allow you to immediately engage your target when you take your rifle to cold ambient temperature  from warm inside
Shockproof Robust mechanical system with special designs on both control and erector system that give you the ultimate recoil resistance to withstand 1000G recoil for 1000 times.
Nitrogen Purged Nitrogen purging dramatically reduces the moisture inside the tube and helps maintaining fogproof and waterproof.

I purchased the Talos BTR 1-4×24 due to the affordable price and the glass quality appears to be excellent. The price is great for someone looking for a good 3-gun scope on a budget or as a good home defense rifle utilizing the one power option. The scope was mounted on a Rock River AR.

I took the Talos BTR 1-4×24 to the range to zero the rifle at 50 yards. I bore sighted the scope and then it was time to get it sighted in. The sight in took only 9 shots, shooting 3 shot groups using the 4 power option. Once sighted in I utilized the one power an did CQB work on multiple targets. I was able to hit where aimed and followup shots were quick and easy. I then moved back to the 100 yard line and the scope on either 1 power or 4 power the groups stayed consistent at under 1/2 moa. I completed a box drill at the 100 yard and the turret movements were spot on.

After the 100 yard I continued out to 200,300 and 400 yards using the scope on 4 power and six inch plates. By using the mil reticle and the downloadable Reticle Manuel and User Instruction Manuel from Athlon the AR-15 was able to hit the six inch plates without issue.

Based on my experience with this scope I would purchase again and would recommend to others. By purchasing this scope it will leave the person with a little extra to get ammunition to shoot after the scope is mounted. It is also backed with a lifetime guarantee, so if the scope breaks you are able to send it back to Athlon.

There is NO way you can beat this scope for less than double what it costs! Unfortunately it puts me in the market to replace my Redfield with another Athlon product. Thank you Athlon for a product that is very well thought out and executed!

Great scope, clear glass, and a nice reticle. Totally worth it, and with the illuminated reticle, quite the deal. IF you like Vortex, you will love Athlon Scopes.
