Superb optics with a wide FOV. You'll see crisp, detailed images with excellent color definition both day [critters] & night [stars]. Mechanically solid and easy to carry & use.
Highly recommended!

I would give them five stars because the optics look awesome, but just when I'm not wearing my glasses. There's my one complaint. I really wish they had a high eyepoint design for longer eye relief for those of us who wear glasses or sunglasses.

We've been hanging on to some old binoculars for years. When a friend offered to share his Athlon Midas pair, we instantly realized how optics had changed. These binoculars are high quality, lite weight and small enough that we can take them anywhere.

Ever since I read a review in Wirecutter I wanted these binoculars. However, what I had really longer for was a pair of Swarovskis, but I couldn't bring myself to pay that kind of money. While these are not quite as good as Swarovski they come close. I was lucky with my first test as there was an American kestrel on a wall hunting large beetles. It was about 50 yards away. The color detail and clarity were outstanding. I was doubly luck because at the same time there was a roufus necked sparrow on another wall only about 20 feet away. I could see clearly every single feather and detail of color. The focusing from one bird to the other was as smooth as silk. These have fast become my favorite binoculars. I also had a chance to compare them to a friend's 10X42 Nikon Aculon A211's. There is a noticeable difference in the overall optics. I prefer the 8 power over 10 power for a number of reasons, but the Athlon were noticeably better when it came to clarity, light capture and just about every other measure. I highly recommend these binoculars.
