I purchased this scope to replace my current 36x fixed power scope
as I was having a problem with the thin cross-hairs in the reticle

Just let me say for a scope at half the price, this Argos is twice the
scope very clear even at 40x and the reticle design is perfect and
    tracks spot on.

All though I use this scope strictly for Bench / Target shooting I wish
it had locking turrets ......Just My 2 Cents....

Athlon, keep up the good work....... I'm very pleased !!

I am very happy with this scope. They designed this scope perfectly for its intended purpose. The reticle is great with the floating dot and not to fine of cross hairs. No information over load. Its just a clean set up. the turret are crisp and easy to use. And most of all there service is next to none. I have several of there scopes and any time I have had a problem with any little thing they fixed it faster than you could believe! They are a great company to deal with. Hope they go far.

This is my second review, this scope is excellent
and so is Athlon's Warranty, so let me explain.

I was having a problem with my scopes parallax
contacted Athlon, I was told to send my scope
back and they would inspect it and let me know.

Well within a couple of days I received an email
stating they were replacing my scope with a new
one........And I received that in three days " wow "

Excellent Customer Service, my next scope will
    be another Athlon.

What a great, underrated scope! I've been shooting competitive airguns for years, and have the 10x40x56 currently mounted on a FWB 300SU. I can't believe the clarity it has, better than two $1200 Sightron S3's I had before. For max crispness run it only at 36X like I do, center the turrets, and use an adjustable mount to zero in so you are looking through the optical center of the scope. I use it for Benchrest, but this scope is so good it can distinguish between 53 and 55 yards, which would also make it ideal for Field Target, a suggestion I am sending to the company, if it only focused down to 10 yards. Bottom line, I've owned Sightrons, Hawkes, Bushnells, Mueller, Weaver, Centerpoint, Vortex and Nikko Sterling scopes ("s" indicating more than one), and except for the thin reticle and focusing down to only 15 yards, this scope is perfect for me. If they put out a version fixing those two problems, I'd buy a dozen.

I just wanted to clarify that I am perfectly satisfied with the scope as is for Benchrest. But if they reduced the focus to 10 yards, and either slightly increased the size of the reticle or darkened it with more contrast, I could then use it for Field Target on the same gun.

Glass, turrets, coatings, clarity: perfect; magnification ring a disaster: takes very strong hands to change magnification (or a wrench).

  7. James Munsell

I like the power it gives me my only problem is clarity at 40 power so I back it off to 32 and it's slightly better so I use it from there. I shoot long range 650 yards currently but want to go up to 1200 yards. Would like it to be clearer.

This is my 5th Athlon scope I have them fitted ro all my rifles from .22lr to 50 BMG , I had a small issue with a turret cap on a Talos and it was replaced under warranty same day , other than that I have never had a problem , they in my opinion for the money the very best you can invest in and put a lot of the high end big money scopes to shame , if ever I need another scope it will be an Athlon for sure , Steve C from Australia .

My gun dealer carries this scope in stock and highly recommended it with my CZ 457 Varmint MTR purchase. After it was mounted and sighted in I must say it was the most clear lens even up tp 40x that I have ever owned. The turrets are positive and the parallax adjustment is great with the wide range. I mainly use it for bench rest but will actually use this hunting season in the field as it is that versatile. I liked it so much I purchased a 2nd one along with another Varmint MTR rifle from him.
