Like many others, I started shooting with my father. At the age of 18, I joined the U.S. Army. My jobs in the military allowed me to shoot many different weapon systems and small arms. Later in the civilian life, I discovered I had a large interest in the shooting sports. Shortly after returning from a tour in Iraq in 2010, I was fully engaged in firearms training, from civilians to law enforcement. During that chapter of my life, I was introduced to Jeff Kyle, brother of the late Navy Seal Chris Kyle. Jeff contacted me and said that he was holding a long range rifle course soon in the local area and asked would I like to attend. Without hesitation, I said yes Immediately! I went to the course with a factory Savage LE grade 308 Winchester and custom hand loads in a mirror image of the M118 sniper round.
That was the spark that ignited my fire, that became my passion and where I am at today with ELR, Extreme Long Range. My father always told me “A man is only as good as his tools”.
