I MET WITH THESE GUYS AT SHOT SHOW 2016 AND WAS VERY INTERESTED IN PUTTING THEIR SCOPES IN MY SHOP. I ORDERED THIS SCOPE AND TESTED IN ON MULTIPLE GUNS. FOR THE MONEY, AND FEATURES, THERE IS NO BETTER SCOPE ON THE MARKET IN MY OPINION.

EVERYTHING IS SMOOTH, THE ILLUMINATION SETTINGS ARE IDEAL (NOT OVERPOWERING) AND THE RETICLE IS VERY CLEAN. A VERY INEXPENSIVE ALTERNATIVE TO A HORUS TYPE RETICLE. I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYBODY WHO CANT AFFORD SOMETHING IN THE NIGHTFORCE/S&B/US OPTICS CATEGORY WHO WANTS A COMPARABLE PRODUCT.
I HAVE ABSOLUTELY ZERO REGRETS WITH THIS SCOPE. I ENJOYED IT SO MUCH I HAD TO PUT ONE ON MY 300WM AS WELL. DONT FORGET ABOUT THAT WARRANTY EITHER (NOT THAT I EXPECT I WILL HAVE TO USE IT).

I took my RPR 6.5 out to the 600 yard match today. I shot from a sling. The wind was variable from 0-8 mph in the first string and 2-6 in the second string. 389/400 points. That's Master class shooting.
I shot the last 6 in my 3rd string of the score card just to fireform the new Hornady brass.
I'm happy with my shooting and the performance of the Athlon Optics Argos BTR 6-24 FFP scope!

ARGOS BTR 6-24×50 APMR FFP IR MIL- I received this scope a few days before I took off to my first ever DMR/PRS tactical match. I did a rough sight alignment bore site prior to packing equipment up. I was on paper within a few shots. This glass is perfect for any situation you plan on using this scope for, whether it is punching paper with friends on the weekends or waiting on hunting trophy to cross your AO. This scope has the clarity and crispness to identify the objective at distance if needed. I would recommend this scope to anyone looking for a very competitive glass for their rifle system. I gave it 4 stars because it didn't come with a sunshade, otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

The Athlon Argos #21-40616-24x50 MIL scope is mounted on my 50BMG. It was quick to adjust and get on paper at a couple hundred yards. I need to find a 1000yard range to continue to fine-tune the adjustments. This scope is clear from 6power to 24power. Although this scope is in the $400 range, it is very similar to scopes costing over $1000. I am pleased.

Scope shipped pretty quick. Was here in less than a week. But had to wait till I had the weekend off to get to the range with it. It has excellent eye relief and super clear glass. Love the first focal plane. The cross hairs are great as well. I didn't get to stretch it out like I wanted to but sighted it in at 100 and got it out to 300 yards. The target that's posted was at 300 with cheap ammo but over all a great buy for the money. Glad I went with this for the 369$ instead of the vortex for 800. You won't be disappointed.

Glass is great from 6 power all the way to 24 power... (Very, Very clear)
Reticle is excellent and illumination is a bonus... (Love the reticle)
Turrets work very well, a touch soft but still very audible. (Love it...)
Power adjustment has just a hint ( and I mean a hint ) of slop, but nothing to worry about and works great..
Fit and finish of the scope is fantastic, a of work art....
Purchased the sunshade and it fit perfectly, color was just a shade off but still looks really good...

Great FFP (Front/First Focal Plane) Illuminated Mil-Dot Reticle (with enhanced reticle) 50mm rifle scope at a very affordable cost! Considered and like Vortex but was difficult to justify a scope costing more than the rifle it goes on. Other high end scope manufacturers have better optics, etc. but trading off functionality and practicality this scope has been an unprecedented success at this price point. Most other FFP Mil-Dot scopes are at least 2x the price, and this allows you to estimate target range for objects of known size, all while at any magnification (SFP/Second Focal Plane scopes only offer target range estimation capability at a single magnification). Add a Vortex Defender Flip Scope Cap with your rifle's ballistics/ammo load/bullet type and you can accurately adjust holdover or use the turret adjustments to dial in corrections for windage and elevation/range.
30mm tube, resettable graduated turrets, reticle focus, etc. are other features. Design is fairly compact for a 50mm objective. I also added a sunshade from Athlon, and it works well. It zeroed easily and holds zero, windage and elevation adjustments are accurate. I wish the illuminated reticle scope designs (of all scope manufacturers) would add an auto-off feature, but they typically don't. While hunting it is common to forget to turn off the reticle after a harvest or an unsuccessful hunt.
Just returned home from a successful hunt using it on a large deer. I found this brand after reading several reviews from long range shooting publications who were equally surprised by the features, value and price point. Additionally, those reviews evaluated more than I had time to, they performed box drills to test the repeatability and accuracy of the mil-dot adjustments and the ability to return to zero. Glass is impressively clean and bright, no distortion, and crisp focus. Etched reticles are well done and fine, which prevent blocking view of target features or surroundings. At high magnification the optics are still clear and bright.
I'm sure other high end manufacturers have a better product, but Athlon has disrupted the market with this set of features and performance. Maybe it won't be as robust as high end scopes, but I don't tend to beat my optics or rifle up so I am okay with that for now.

The scope itself is solid, clear, and survived .308 Win recoil without issue. The vertical turret tracking is right on as far as the number of clicks. I built a chart and checked it. It was accurate to within my ability to measure. The label hash marks and the actual click stops seemed maybe little off from each other. I have had some minor hiccups with the horizontal turret tracking, but mostly just due running out of adjustment and the less than ideal labeling setup for the horizontal dial.
I don't care for the style of dust covers included, but at least there are some.
The reticle illumination isn't very bright, but I won't use it anyway.
At this price point I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

WOW !!! This is without a doubt the best scope for the money and beyond that I have ever owned. The glass is super clear . The reticle is outstanding and crisp. The light gathering ability of this scope is awesome. I used this scope for a night hog hunt and could see under the feeder at 150 yards with just the moon light. The feeder was in the shadow of the woods and could not be seen with the naked eye in the dark. The scope zeroed easily and has held dead on. I have had lots of scopes over 35 years of hunting and this one beats them all . I will put this scope against any scope on the market at prices triple Its cost. I'm now a new fan of Athlon and will use their scopes on every gun I own . Their warranty is top notch no questions asked (LIFETIME) but with this quality I doubt you would ever need it. I would buy this scope again in a heartbeat!

Just received my scope today and awaiting arrival of the 20 MOA rail to mount on my Ruger American Predator in 6.5 Creedmoor. Accordingly, this is a preliminary review and I will update when I get the scope mounted and zeroed.
The scope arrived well packaged in a hinged box designed for the contours of the scope. It is built like a tank and simply from looks and feel the initial impression is that it's a quality product. I looked through the scope at 24 power as that was the setting when it arrived. Absolutely crystal clear and no color aberration or ghosting/fading around the perimeter of the lens from max to min power. Parallax and focus adjustments are dead on. I installed the battery and the reticle lit up brightly as the scope was shipped with the control set on 11. Another very pleasant surprise!! The reticle lit up crisp and clear and not washed out and blurry as with my other illuminated scopes at full brightness. The illumination range is excellent and will suffice for just about any ambient lighting conditions. My initial impression is that this scope is everything, and more, that the manufacturer claims it to be. Based upon other reviews I have no doubt the scope will pair very well with my rifle.

Purchased this optic for a budget PRS rifle. It has nice features you would expect to find on an optic double or triple in price. It is a fantastic value and would definitely purchase again. I was hesitant at first due to the large number of Athlon dealers doing a lot of the reviewing and rating. After I had a chance to play with one in person that's when I decided to make the leap of faith. I have a Razor Gen II and a Kahles 624, would I replace either of them for the Argos BTR - NO, but that's not a fair comparison.
You absolutely CAN NOT get more bang for your buck with any other optics company at this point in time. I can not comment ethically on the durability to hard recoiling calibers, but the optic has stayed zeroed and tracks well out to 1,000 yds on my 308 with no can or brake, I may swap it over to my 300RUM for testing and review purposes later.
The Argos does everything I have asked it to do and does it well, I do plan on going further up the Athlon scale with an Ares BTR and Cronus BTR in the future.
Athlon has done a bang up job of giving quality FFP, feature packed optics at an entry level price. If you're on the fence do not hesitate to jump into one of their value lines to test the waters. I can say for certain that I will be a repeat customer and am very pleased with my purchase thus far.

I have an Argos BTR. The Optics are clear. It tracks great and the warranty is outstanding. I know because there was an issue caused by a local retailer that I had mount it who (I think) may have over torqued the rings and messed up the parallax adjustment. I sent it in and within a couple of weeks received a new scope, no questions asked, and this one performs beautifully! I'm planning to buy more when I can. Well worth the money.

I'm very happy with my Argos BTR. It tracks very well and the optics are excellent for the price. I'm hitting targets out to 1000 yds with it. Also, due to a vendor that over torqued my rings, the first scope had problems with the parallax adjustment and I had to send it in. I had a new scope within 2 weeks and mounted it myself this time and everything works just fine, including nice audible clicks on the turrets. I won't hesitate to buy another one!

I have this on a 300 Win Mag. I have held off on reviewing until I could give it some time to hold up to the pounding. It is far exceeding my expectations. You really can't buy a better optic for the price. I have swapped this to a 7mm Rem Mag and 6.5 Creedmoor while testing it. It has performed flawlessly. The windage & elevation adjustment is dead on. Good tactile clicks and it has held zero perfectly. The glass is good, not great... but I would say it compares well to a Burris XTR or Bushnell Elite at a fraction of the cost. I took a chance on a "cheap" scope, but I have learned that this optic is not Cheap at all. It is just inexpensive. There is nothing cheap about it. Very well made, quality product that has held up to some a few hundred rounds of punishing magnum recoil.

Mounted this scope on my Savage MKii .22LR as a 'trainer' for PRS and NRL matches. With a 30MOA base, this scope gets me out to 300 yrds nicely. Tracks precisely (boxes out well and tall target tests are exact). Definitely need to remove and replace the factory grease under the turrets, to enable audible clicks and have a more positive feel. I wish it came with shims for a zero stop, but nylon washers did the trick just fine. So far so good.It it holds up well, I may try one on a larger CF. If good then, I may start stocking them in my retail shop.

Mounted on stock Springfield Saint ar-15. Zeroed @100 yards per the manual. Never shot more than 200 yards before. Was hitting steel at 600 yards in no time! I can't believe the optical clarity for a sub $300 optic. I used the strelok pro ap on my phone ? for turret adjustment and everything was spot on. I've never looked through a high end scope and I'm sure its a big difference but for a fraction of the cost the Athlon can't be beat.

This was my first Athlon scope, I've had it about 2 years now. Close to 1000 rounds of .308 and 2000 of .223 have been shot with this scope. I have shot both the .223 and the .308 various distances to 900 yards dialing out and back with a no problem returning to zero. The turrets aren't the best out there being kind of mushy but no problem if you pay attention while dialing. That is the only "complaint" I have for this scope. It is definitely a great scope for the price. I am very happy with it.
I liked it enough to buy a Cronus 4.5-29x56 and an Argos 6-30x56.

I used the Athlon Argos scope for a One Day NRA Beginners Long Range Class at the Peacemaker National Training Center in West Virginia. The rifle I was using was a Savage .308 BVSS.
We verified our 100-yard zero and then moved to "The Mountain". We started out on targets in the 460-yard range. I made my scope adjustment and I was able to get on target with one shot. After several shots, I move to the 690-yard targets. After making my scope adjustment, I was again able to get on target at 690 yards.
I then moved to 950 yards knowing this would be really stretching my .308 load. With the help of a good spotter, I was able to get several hits on a steel pig at 950 yards.
The Argos is a great scope, clear, bright and with positive adjustments.
I have purchased a second Argos for my M1A.

Great scope! The clarity is nice and it tracks well.

Don't know why this brand isn't more popular. Front focal plane, price, quality, and unconditional warranty was the deciding factor for me. Feels like $1k scopes. I will never considered a vortex scope as long as this company is putting out products like this, glad I tried them out, hope to see a mini dot in the future with the Athlon brand name. TRUMP PENCE!!

Great scope for the price I paid. FFP scope mounted on my Ruger precision rifle and very affordable

WOW !!! This is without a doubt the best scope for the money and beyond that I have ever owned. The glass is super clear . The reticle is outstanding and crisp. The light gathering ability of this riflescope is awesome.

Good turrets and clear picture edge to edge. Easy to get a good picture even at large magnification. Recommended!

Just purchased number three, Argos 6-24x50 rifle scope in MiL again, love my other two....one in MiL and one in MOA, but this one is even a tad better....the turrets are wonderful, they are so much better and so much more audible ( the older ones can easily be fixed) clicks....wow....nothing to say about glass, is great,,,,the tracking and quality again spot on!!
Well, my Athlon collection is growing....mark my word here!! I AM NOT A FAN boy....will tell how it is in a hurry!!
But this is just good stuff, thanks Athlon.....now ordering a Athlon Talos BTR for my newly build 308 Savage...

Great scope, clear and bright but there isn't a zero stop. If you look at one of their videos, they tell you to get some plastic washers. REALLY! Can't believe they didn't think about this.

Fantastic scope! Got it for an RPR and very please. Front cap's spring was not working and they mailed me a new cap on the same day I called. Great customer service too.
Jacob Pashuta –
Best scope I have! FFP, crisp and clear all the way through the magnification. I am not a sharp shooter by any means, but this scope is the best deal on the market. I have been happy with all my Athlon purchases and will be adding more when needed. I put this on my Howa ABA 6.5 Creedmoor, and it is a tack driver. Don't hesitate to buy this over a $1000 Vortex!
