Description

When you hear first focal plane rifle scope, the best rifle scopes on the market come to mind. With crisp locking turrets, advanced fully multi-coated optics, and built from a one piece tube made of aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum you would expect it to come with a high price tag.  That is not the case. This is exactly why we introduced the Helos BTR family.  Feature rich but won’t break the bank.

This Helos BTR 6-24×50 Model has APLR2 first focal plane illuminated MOA reticle in it. Please click the link or download the reticle instruction manual in Specification for more details…

Feature

First Focal Plane ReticleFirst focal plane design allows you to fully utilize specially designed reticles that shrink or grow along with your target as you zoom in or out.  These reticles offer quick target engagement at low power while offering precise holdover positions with finer details.
Locking TurretsLocking feature on both elevation and windage turrets allows you to simply pull up the turrets to dial and push down the turrets to lock them in place. This feature gives you a peaceful mind whether you are moving from one station to next during your competition or putting them away for your next hunting trip.
Illuminated ReticleThe illuminated reticle provides greater visibility during dusk and dawn and other low ambient light environment.
Etched Glass ReticleReticle etched on the glass that provides excellent backing support for complex reticle design and offers great durability and much higher shock resistance to recoil
Fully MulticoatedFully Multicoated optics effectively reduces reflected light and increases the transmission of light giving you a brighter image than normal single coated lenses
6061 T6 AluminumThe 6061T6 aircraft grade aluminum tube that has exceptional strength and superior mechanical integrity will protect these world class optics no matter what punishment you throw at it.
Heat Treated One Piece Tube ConstructionHeat treated one piece tube gives the scope extra strength over multi-piece tubes.  A one piece tube also is better at keeping moisture out thus keeping your scope fog proof for the life of the product
WaterproofWaterproof to protect the scope in the harshest weather conditions or if accidentally submerged underwater
Fog proofFog proof to allow you to immediately engage your target when you take your rifle to cold ambient temperature  from warm inside
ShockproofRobust mechanical system with special designs on both control and erector system that give you the ultimate recoil resistance to withstand 1000G recoil for 1000 times.
Argon PurgedArgon Purging uses the inertia gas with bigger size molecules to purge any moisture out of  the tube giving you better waterproofing and thermal stability .

this is a great scope. clarity is a notch better than my vortex pst. love the ffp reticle and the illumination is bright enough for daytime use. the only drawback to this scope is the lack of adjustment range for ultra long range work. it works well for 1000 yard work if you have a 20 moa rail, but not much more. I have this on a savage 10 BA stealth in 6.5 Creedmoor. I’ll be buying the Cronus BTR for my 338 lapua in the near future.

The Helos BTR is a awesome scope. I am a professional predator hunter, and I use this scope to shoot almost every single coyote that I kill. Its ridiculously clear for the price, easily as clear or clearer than a $1000 Vortex scope. I love the locking turrets, and I especially love the illuminated reticle. Its awesome for low light situations that we run into while predator hunting. Basically, for whatever you’re hunting, this is the scope you want.

I have a Vortex Viper pst moa ffp that I love and looked at them when i needed to add another scope but the cost stings a little so in my research I found Athlon. After research that included meeting the guys at Athlon and looking at their products in person i chose the Helos BTR moa ffp. The turrets are crisp and right on the mark, this model even provides locking turrets, which was an added benefit over my Vortex. side by side Vortex/Athlon I cannot tell a difference, but at less than half the price of a Vortex with the same warranty, my wallet sure can tell a difference.
i would recommend any of the optics from Athlon and Love my new Helos rifle scope which is now on my new 6.5×47 Remington platform.

Great rifle scope. Sighted in at 100 on a 30-06, plan on getting to the 1000 yard mark in a few days. If you’re looking for a nice scope that’s not to harsh on the pockets give athlon a try.

Excellent rifle scope. You can’t find another FFP scope with this many features at this price. I have only taken mine out to 100 yards because I was waiting on my chronograph. It’s very clear and the reticle illumination works perfectly. I have the scope mounted on my Howa APC in 6.5 CM, Vortex rings, and Talley 20 MOA rail. Looking forward to reaching out to 300 this weekend. Unfortunately, there are no long distance ranges close to San Antonio. I’ll have to drive to Austin to stretch it out to 500+ yards. Great job Athlon on creating an outstanding product at this price. I paid $570 on Amazon and mine came with a sunshade.
